"Berd" Dance Ensemble

The Berd Dance Ensemble was founded in 1963 in Yerevan by Boris Gevorgyan, People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia, who staged and systematized the finest examples of Armenian folk dance. The ensemble’s activity continues under the leadership of Karen Gevorgyan, who has carried out extensive field-collection work, gathered folk dances from different regions of Armenia, created more than fifty new stage productions, and brought new breath and contemporary stage vitality to Armenian dances.
